These Burnley College students are looking to a bright future after 'exceptional' A-Level grades

Burnley College achieved an overall A-Level pass rate of 99.8%; 96% of A-Level students achieved at least one A*-C grade; 73% of A-Level students achieved at least one A*-B grade and a 34% of A-Level students achieved at least one A* or A grade.

Students achieving exceptional grades included:

- Chris Kilgallon (18), from Burnley, a former Unity College pupil, is considering his options after receiving offers to study Mathematics at the Universities of Cambridge, Durham and Manchester after achieving A*A*A in A Level Further Mathematics, Mathematics and Physics.

- Sam Jackson-Smith (18), from Burnley, a former Ermysteds Grammar School pupil, who has plans to take a year out to travel the world before applying to read Chemistry at the University of Oxford after achieving A*AAA in A Level Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.

- Oscar Duck (18), from West Bradford, Ribble Valley, a former Bowland High pupil, who has plans to launch his own business as a highly-skilled blacksmith, achieved A*A*AB in A Level Product Design, Mathematics, Ancient History and Chemistry.

- Rianna Hill (18), from Haslingden, a former Alder Grange Community and Technology School pupil, who has plans to read Criminology at Lancaster University after achieving A*A*A in A Level Sociology, Psychology and English Literature.

- Katy Wyld (18), from Cliviger, a former Unity College pupil, who has plans to read French Studies and Politics at Lancaster University after achieving A*A*A in A Level French, Politics and English Language.

- Daisy Winter (18), from Bacup, a former Alder Grange School pupil, who has plans to read Mathematics at Durham University after achieving A*AAC in A Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Psychology and English Language.

- Shannon Finnegan (18), from Briercliffe, a former Unity College pupil, who has plans to read English Literature and History at the University of Manchester after achieving A*AA in A Level English Literature, Classical Civilisation and History.

- Esha Ehsan (18), from Burnley, a former Sir John Thursby Community College pupil, who has plans to read Law at the University of Central Lancashire after achieving A*AA in A Level Sociology, Religious Studies and Law.

- Ellie Ayrton (18), from Barnoldswick, a former West Craven High School pupil, who will read Film-Making at Leeds Beckett University after achieving A*AA in A Level Film Studies, English Literature and Drama.

- Elly Shuttleworth (18), from Padiham, a former Ribblesdale High School pupil, who has plans to read Fashion Design with Marketing at the University of Huddersfield after achieving A*AA in A Level Art and Design, Mathematics and Statistics.

- Mollie Jesson (18), from Barnoldswick, a former West Craven High School pupil, who has plans to read English at the University of York after achieving A*AA in an A Level Extended Project, A Level English Language/Literature and Sociology and an additional Distinction in a Subsidiary Diploma in Music.

- Alfie Morland (18), from Burnley, a former Sir John Thursby Community College pupil, who has plans to read Classical Civilisation at Durham University after achieving A*AA in A Level English Literature, Classical Civilisation and History.
