A £1,000 donation from the Greggs Charity Foundation was spent at Tesco in Burnley, with community Champion Billie Jean Horne helping to select the items for the hampers. Butchers Fayre in Burnley also supplied fresh meat for the hampers.

Casterton principal Paul Whaling said: “We know how difficult 2020 has been for so many local families so it was fantastic that thanks to the donation from Greggs, we were able to work with Tesco and Butchers Fayre to create some amazing hampers for families in our local community.

“I’d also like to thank our teaching assistant Mrs Blezard for coordinating this project, along with all of the children and staff who helped to put the hampers together.

“We hope they help to spread a little festive cheer this Christmas.”
