Children's author inspires pupils at Shuttleworth College on World Book Day
Michael Riding called in at Shuttleworth College with his first novel "Callum McBride" which tells the story of a 12-year-old boy who, home from school and bored in the holidays, discovers to his shock that he has an unknown talent - he can occupy the minds of animals and control their actions.
Shropshire-born Michael chatted about the novel, reading and writing to around 100 Year 7 and 8 pupils at the school.

Hide AdHe said: "In each session the pupils were given the opportunity to ask questions about the book and the writing process. They also wrote paragraphs on a similar theme to the book.
"Every pupil was given a bookmark to celebrate world book day and the publication of Callum McBride."
