The 2020 A-Level results come in a year which has seen Burnley College Sixth Form Centre recognised as the Number 1 College in England for student attainment (aged 16-18) in the latest official Government figures.

Burnley College principal Karen Buchanan said: “2020 is a year that we will not forget in a hurry. It is not Covid-19 which will remain in our memories but the resilience, determination and motivation shown by our truly amazing students.

"Their world was literally turned upside down in spring with the announcement that their much-anticipated exams would be cancelled but their fortitude and resolve has been inspirational and has made a huge impact on the whole Burnley College family.

“We know that today is not how students would have imagined their Results Day to look. But our heartfelt congratulations on our students’ outstanding achievements remain the same – our students have earned fantastic A-Level grades which have opened the door to degree study at some of the UK’s top Universities - and progression on to rewarding careers - additionally the strength of character each student has shown truly helps them to stand out from the crowd.
