“Not every firm of solicitors commits to helping people in the way that we do,” says WHN’s CEO, Michael Shroot.

WHN Solicitors is a law firm with eight offices across Lancashire and Greater Manchester, with a dedicated office on King Street in Clitheroe, which the firm opened in 2019.

The award-winning firm employs over 100 staff across its regional offices and is recognised nationally for its commitment to client service, having been ranked in two 2022 coveted guides to the UK’s leading lawyers; Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.

With its origins dating back to 1791, it’s fair to say that WHN Solicitors and its people have seen a lot of change in the past 231 years but its unwavering commitment to helping clients and communities remains at the heart of its business.

Specialist services

WHN offers a vast range of services to individuals, families, businesses and property professionals, helping clients across the Ribble Valley, the North West and beyond.

From moving house and making a will, to marriage breakdowns and dealing with the death of a relative, WHN provides a specialist and sympathetic service to individuals and families.

The firm also has dedicated teams that help business owners and directors across the many legal issues involved in starting, growing and selling a business. WHN also specialises in commercial property, advising property developers and professionals.

Right across its specialist legal teams and offices, WHN’s people share some common values when it comes to client service.

“The law is a complex and complicated area, so clients need us to bring clarity to important legal matters. Strong communication runs throughout our service, as well as a commitment to building relationships and getting to understand our clients and their aims,” says Michael.

“If we can help clients make the right legal decisions in life - whether it be personal, family or business life - we have done our job and this gives us great personal satisfaction.”

Giving back to the community

WHN’s position in its communities extends beyond helping clients. It has a dedicated team that works with community and volunteer groups. The firm supports The Salvation Army in Clitheroe and recently donated 200 kilos of provisions to the Ribble Valley Foodbank, which helps provide food to around 180 families per month in the Clitheroe area.

Michael added: “We are committed to helping our communities and the people within them, whether that be through legal advice or charity support. I’m proud of the effort our teams have made to extend a hand to those in need recently.”
