Eleven colleagues from Sagar Insurances based at Shuttleworth Mead, Padiham, were joined by clients, family and friends for the challenge to climb Pendle Hill.

And even though soaring temperatures added to the gruelling challenge they made it and hope to have smashed their £500 target for Pendleside Hospice.

And it looks like this could be boosted to £1,000 as the generous directors of Sagar have agreed to match fund whatever was raised.

The 25 strong group completed the five mile climb in just over two hours with just one 10 minute break.

And the youngest member of the crew was baby Sophie who completed the challenge strapped to her dad's back.

After completing the trek the party met at the Pendle Inn pub at the foot of the hill to toast their success with an ice cold pint or two!

The company now plans to take part in the annual Pendleside Hospice Corporate Challenge, with several other local businesses, to help raise as much money as possible for the hospice.
