Hundreds of pupils across England tuned in to a live-stream led by Positive Footprints, demystifying the transport industry and challenging stereotypes with Burnley based company Fagan and Whalley.

The ‘Career Conversation’, part of Positive Footprints’ Raising Aspirations Programme, connects professionals directly with pupils, teaching them about different careers.

Children then put the professionals in the hot seat with a question-and-answer segment.

The live stream was Positive Footprints’ first on-location event, where Fagan and Whalley, transport and logistics company in Altham, shared insight through three of their employees.

Professional driver Amy, senior planner Alex and engineer Mark joined host Jo Norwood to share their skills and explain how their roles interlink with each to ensure items get from A-to-B, safely and on time.

The trio helped children understand the role of one heavy goods vehicle and team, before understanding the logistics of Fagan and Whalley’s 170 HGV fleet.

Almost 700 children from across England were online for the event including pupils from Rosewood Primary in Burnley.
