All stores in the Sayers and Poundbakery chains will reopen following the Government's easing of coronavirus lockdown restrictions on retail outlets.

The company has branches across the north west, including Preston, Blackpool, Lancaster, Burnley and Leigh. Bosses said the stores will be serving "the vast majority" of their range, including breakfast all day.

A statement released by the company said: "All our shops have been deep-cleaned and will continue to be cleaned and sanitised throughout the day.

"Our staff will be well-equipped with all the necessary PPE."

However, the statement reminded customers not to go to the stores if they showed symptoms of the Covid-19 virus - a new persistent cough or a fever.

The Bolton-based company was bought out of administration in December last year, and has around 160 stores and more than 1,000 employees across the north of England.
