New Burnley role-play children's attraction is proving a hit with parents and little ones

Tiny Tots Town Burnley in Sandygate is a role play centre that has been set up by two parents who understand it can sometimes be tricky to find things to do with young children that’s a little bit different.

Holly is a former geography teacher and Jamie owns Pegasus Gas and Plumbing. When Holly’s maternity leave came to an end, the couple decided to take the plunge and go for it with the business idea they’d had for some time – but then COVID-19 hit.

Holly, speaking to Burnley.co.uk, said: “After finishing maternity leave, we decided to take a gamble on an idea we’d had for a little while – but then Coronavirus happened. We spent a long time looking for premises that would allow us to create the space we needed.

“We love the old mill and due to its low height inside, it makes the town so much more realistic. We also love the location, as it’s so easy to access from the motorway and it has its own carpark.”

Tiny Tots Town Burnley has 11 different role play areas, including a vets, police station, construction site, supermarket and post office. There’s also a café for parents, who can take a well-deserved break whilst their children safely play.

Of course, it’s a challenging time to open a new business, something Holly acknowledges. However, they’ve ensured the centre can be ran safely and according to COVID-19 guidelines.

“The play centre works on an online pre-booking system. We will run four sessions a day. Between each session, the play centre is completely cleaned and reset ready for the next set of children. We are also working to reduced numbers, so sessions will be small,” Holly explained.

And further good news for parents is that it will open seven days a week between 9-30am and 4-30pm.

As parents to two young girls, Holly and Jamie were keen to try and fill a gap in the market after often spending time at the weekend looking for things to do.
