The PM+M team have been running, walking cycling, swimming, horse riding, roller skating and skateboarding in an attempt to collectively cover the distance across the Atlantic from Lancashire to New York - a staggering 3,320 miles - in memory of Faye Holden, for Pendleside Hospice.

The idea was inspired by Faye, who died aged just 43, and who had previously raised money for the hospice by swimming the distance of the English Channel.

Having already hit its target of collectively covering 3,320 miles, the team has decided to up the ante by completing another 3,320 miles for Faye.

The team is aiming to hit its revised target mileage by 30 September.

Jane Parry – managing partner at PM+M – said: “Everyone at PM+M has really got behind the challenge which has been amazing. We're absolutely over the moon to have achieved our initial target within the first month so we wanted to build on that success. We really want to make Faye proud and raise as much money as possible for Pendleside Hospice.”

On average, it costs £1,965 per day for someone to be an in-patient at the hospice, with yearly running costs totalling over £4m. and only 22% of grant funding coming from the NHS. This means that the hospice needs to raise over £3 million each year from charitable donations to keep their doors open.
