Colne accountants qualify on same day in historic first for firm

Bosses at Hargreaves, Brown and Benson in Bond Street were ecstatic when Josh Jackson and Joanna Wood both passed their final examination on the exact same day – the first occurrence of this being recorded in over 100 years of service at the firm.

Steven Wood, managing partner, said the firm now boasts eight chartered accountants out of a total 28 staff members.

Joanna said: “I am very grateful to have carried out my training at HBB. Everyone at the firm has been very supportive, especially Steven and Les, as they have allowed me to take the time I needed to carry out my studies and been very encouraging, particularly when I’ve suffered set-backs.”

Meanwhile, Josh said he “felt a great sense of accomplishment” upon the completion of his recent qualification.

He added: “Completing the qualification whilst in a full-time job requires much determination, but being part of a friendly team at HBB and having such supportive colleagues has been invaluable and a big contributing factor to my exam success.”
