Here are the venues confirmed to have closed in and around Lancashire due to the Covid-19 outbreak (if you know of any other closures, email me at [email protected]):

Preston, Chorley and South Ribble schools:

Frenchwood Community Primary School in Preston has closed its nursery and reception classes until after the half term break due to a positive case of COVID-19 in the school community.

Parents of youngsters at Ingol's Pool House School in Preston have been told to keep them at home on Wednesday, September 7, 2020 for another two days, after a second member of staff received a positive coronavirus test.

A case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at Albany Academy in Chorley on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, forcing a number of children to stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days. Headteacher Peter Mayland said parents of the affected children have been informed by letter, with guidance on how they should remain indoors and avoid social contact for 14 days.

Penwortham Primary School has asked parents to keep children isolated at home today due to a case of coronavirus on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. The school did not say whether the case is related to a child or a member of staff, but Mrs Hesketh said a number of pupils have been asked to study from home for the next 14 days.

Ashton Community Science College -The high school in Aldwych Drive, Ashton informed parents on Monday (September 28) of a confirmed case in Year 10, with the whole year group told to stay at home and self-isolate until October 9. It is the second case of COVID-19 at the school to date, with Year 8 sent home last week.

Blackpool and the Fylde schools:

Baines School in Poulton-le-Fylde has today (Monday, October 12, 2020) confirmed in a message that a year 9 pupil had tested positive for Covid-19.

The school advised parents that all year 9 pupils would be kept in their "bubble base rooms" today, until it was safe to send them home.

Bars and restaurants:

The Lime Bar Lounge in Penwortham announced on Sunday, October 4 that it was shutting down "with immediate effect" after two members of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

A statement said that despite advice from Public Health England that the bar could remain open, the owners had decided to shut temporarily to safeguard customers and staff and to undergo a thorough deep clean.
