Burnley Marks and Spencer reopens as chain confirms injured are in good care

Burnley's Marks and Spencer has reopened today following yesterday morning's shocking double stabbing.

Bosses at the chain, which had only reopened yesterday following the second national lockdown, said their thoughts were with the member of staff aged in her 40s and member of the public aged in her 60s, who had been seriously injured in the attack.

Thankfully, both women's injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

An M&S spokesperson said: “We can confirm our Burnley store is open today following yesterday’s incident. The M&S colleague and member of the public who were injured are in good care and we continue to support the police with their investigation.”

A 57-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody.
