Three comedians at Nelson’s First Friday Frolics

First Friday Frolics are back at the ACE Centre in Nelson this week.

The popular evening, held on the first Friday of every month, returns with three great comedians.

Host for the evening is Jonathon Elston, a comedy “natural”, who can react in an instance to the thoughts and comments of an audience.

Opening act for the night is Smug Roberts, the Manchester Godfather of comedy, TV, film and radio. He started out at the Frog and Bucket, Manchester, and broke through as a headline act in 2000 after being asked to join a star-studded line up at Manchester’s Comedy Store opening night.

He’s shared the stage with Paul Merton, Julian Clary and John Thompson and is touring the UK this year with his One Man comedy show.

The middle part of the show is covered by Phil “Scooby” Chapman and last, but by no means least, the headline act for the evening is Seymour Mace, who has featured in all five series of “Ideal” on BBC3.

Tickets in advance are £7, or it’s £8 on the door.

Doors open at 7-30 p.m. for an 8-15 p.m. start. Call the Box Office on 01282 661080.
