Take off on a whirlwind of theatre in the next seven days

Hold onto your seats - an explosive week of theatre is whirling into town.

First up is Our Tommy, a celebration of Burnley hero, Thomas Whitham, which will mark 100 years since the soldier was given the Victoria Cross in World War One.

“Thomas was an ordinary Burnley lad who took part in an extraordinary event and acts as an inspiration for people today,” said Director Russell Lane.

This triumphant show devised by students of Thomas Whitham Sixth Form will fuse together theatre and live folk music for an evening of spine-tingling entertainment.

The cast will march on stage at The Burnley Mechanics on Wednesday from 7-30pm.

Audiences can also take a spin on the dark side of theatre at a showing of Dangerous Corner.

The Garrick is bringing J. B. Priestley’s “Time” play to life nightly from Wednesday to Saturday.

In his classic production, Priestley twists the concept of time and throws together murder mystery and psychological drama to create the perfect storm.
