Ray Peacock to bring the laughs to Burnley Mechanics

THE comedy will be coming thick and fast when this night of hilarity bursts onto the stage at the Burnley Mechanics.

Celebrate the festive season with some of the best talent working in comedy as The Jester Comedy Club hosts a spectacular evening of laughter from the finest comedians currently touring the comedy circuit. Headlining the show is the in demand compere and headliner Ray Peacock, who as a stand-up performer recently appeared on the latest series of “Russell Howard’s Good News”.

His TV credits include, “Doctor Who”, “Skins”, “Doctors”, “Harry Hill’s TV Burp” and “The 11 O’Clock Show” and has been described by TimeOut as “immaculately funny”.

Tim Fitzhigham, an award-winning British comedian, author and world record holder, is also due to appear on the bill.

Feats he has performed include paddling a paper boat down 160 miles of the River Thames, rowing a bathtub across the English Channel and inflating the world’s largest balloon.

Nominated for the Perrier Best Newcomer award in 1999 – Tim has since embarked on an increasingly eccentric series of adventures, making Edinburgh shows out of his exploits.

Last and by no means least is the very talented Joe Lycett, winner of the Bath New Act of the Year 2009, Chortle Student Comedian of the Year 2009 and Best Newcomer at the Chortle Awards 2010.

Shortly after winning the Best Newcomer award in early 2010 Joe, who will be opening the show, made his first TV appearance on BBC Three’s “Laughtershock”.

At the Edinburgh Fringe this year he performed with Andrew Ryan in “An Hour of Humour”, with the show receiving a string of five and four star reviews in publications such as Fest, TimeOut, The British Comedy Guide and more.

Tickets for the show which takes place on Thursday, December 16th at 8 p.m. are £10.
