Both loveable characters have been turned into stage shows and will be touring theatres in the North West.

Young fans Ruaridh (6) and Flora (3) were given a peek preview of the Hairy Maclary and Friends Show and they loved it!
Both are big fans of the Lynley Dodd books and the stage interpretation performed by the fantastically named Nonsense Room Productions is top notch.

Sometimes children’s shows can have no substance and are so short you haven’t had time to finish your ice cream. But with Dodd’s books to use as a base, the cast has an easy job wooing in the audience. There are lots of chances for the small folk to join in, spotting pictures of Hairy and his friends, making noises and signing and dancing.

And the set is colourful too, ensuring the youngsters are gripped to their seats and concentrating hard through the hour long performance.

From dogs to pigs! The nursery roof is leaking and Peppa and her friends need to fix it quickly. They set up a fete to raise the money for Mr Bull to carry out the repairs. There’s plenty of fun to be had as Peppa, George, Mummy and Daddy Pig, as well as Danny Dog, Pedro Pony and Suzy Sheep put up bunting, run stalls and organise a great day out.  There’s also a champion puddle jumping competition judged by Mr Potato where everyone gets wet and Peppa needs to find her golden boots.

The Peppa Pig Big Splash show will be touring for 47 weeks and first stop in the North West is the Grand Theatre in Blackpool on Saturday and Sunday, November 23rd and 24th, with dates in Preston, Halifax, Manchester and Liverpool in 2014.
