Imran Yusuf brings the laughs to Burnley Mechanics

THE comedy just keeps being rolled out by Burnley Mechanics.

Imran Yusuf is the latest big name comedian coming to town and will be lighting up the Manchester Road venue on Saturday, May 14th.

The date is part of Imran’s eagerly anticipated debut UK tour and gives the Burnley audience a rare opportunity to discover the show that catapulted him from a relatively unknown performer to one of the most talked about comedians of The Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2010.

His appearance at the festival was only his very first debut solo show yet within a week he had gained the first of a collection of five-star reviews before being nominated for Best Newcomer in the Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award 2010.

All in all he performed in more than 100 shows last August and came to further prominence on BBC1’s “Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Road Show” and the “Edinburgh Comedy Gala” on BBC3.

Renowned for his optimism-packed, super-high energy performances, Imran has rapidly become one of the UK’s most inspirational comedians. Fast and furious yet charmingly endearing, his is a unique voice on the comedy circuit with his seemingly light-hearted satire frequently masking hard-hitting topical commentary on contemporary issues such as racism, sexism and religion.

Tickets for the show, which starts at 8 p.m., are priced at £12 and £10 and are available from the box office on 01282 664400 or online at www.burnleymechanics.co.uk.
