A COMEDY cracker will be exploding at the Burnley Mechanics on the run up to Christmas.

Award-wining and highly acclaimed Australian comedian Brendon Burns has chosen the Mechanics as the venue to end his extensive UK Autumn tour, on Monday, December 13th.

A regular at the Edinburgh Festival for a number of years now, he consistently sells out the larger venues and was winner of the coveted Comedy Award in 2007 with his extremely controversial show “So You Think This Is Offensive”.

Brendon’s hilarious tours have made him a huge favourite with British comedy fans coinciding with him also becoming a regular on our television screens.

His television career began, alongside Sacha Baron Cohen and Ricky Gervais, as a performer on Channel 4’s late-night spontaneous comedy show “The Eleven O’clock Show”. He has subsequently appeared as a presenter on “I’m a Celebrity Get Me out of Here” and as the conductor of “Master Classes in Stand-up”.

Always controversial and thought provoking, The Guardian, talking about this show, called him “A modern master” while Time Out described it as “The most jaw droopingly awkward, painful, yet ultimately rewarding piece of stand up ever seen”.

Tickets are available now from the box office on 01282 664400 or online at www.burnleymechanics.co.uk.

• Don’t forget about Jesters Comedy Club on Thursday, December 16th, with a great line-up featuring Ray Peacock, Tim Fitzhigham and Joe Lycett.
