Book Review: Oor Wullie and The Broons Notebooks

HIS cheeky face and spiky hair have kept children entertained for years as he starred with his family in The Sunday Post’s The Broons cartoon strips.

And now Oor Wullie is taking the book shelves by storm with a series of new fun books and notebooks to keep everyone entertained.

The wee fella is the main stay of an easy to read series of books for the over eights and published by Waverley Books.

Joined by his pals, Fat Bob, Wee Eck and Soapy Soutar, each book has 96 pages of facts, anagrams, colouring in pictures, jokes, join the dots, knock knock jokes, word games, spot the difference, pairing up words, I Spy and brain teasers.

And there are notebooks which are illustrated with cartoons drawn by the talented artist Peter Davidson which feature close ups of Oor Wullie and The Broons and are useful for children for keeping secret diaries and parents remembering their “to do lists!’’
