Model railway exhibition in Padiham

Model railway enthusiasts will converge on a local church this weekend as it stages a popular annual exhibition.

Padiham’s Nazareth Unitarian Church hall and schoolrooms (in Knight Hill next to Memorial Park) are the venue for the annual model railway exhibition taking place this Saturday, November 3rd, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It features a huge Gauge 1 layout with live steam radio-controlled locomotives, a large modern image “OO” loco depot with digital sound, a Japanese N scale city station showcasing early Shinkansen bullet trains, and a display about Padiham transport history.

Other exhibits include G scale LGB trains, a rural Scottish “O” gauge line, a narrow gauge rustic American mine, “OO” exhibits, and a hands-on play area with Playmobil trains for the youngsters.
