Great line-up for Burnley Mechanics

Burnley Mechanics has released its new season of events and on top of the firm favourites and the big hitters there is also a wealth of exciting new talent on show.

Once again the striking array of comedy talent is guaranteed to keep audiences smiling into the winter months with visits from household favourites Andy Parsons, Jeremy Hardy, Phill Jupitus and Paul Foot along with rapidly rising star Hal Crittenden and Germany’s major comedy export now making a big name for himself in the UK – Henning When

Showaddywaddy, Dennis Locorriere, Luca Bloom and The Swing Commanders bring their unique musical styles to Burnley along with exciting tribute acts playing homage to Frank Sinatra, Roy Orbison, Pink Floyd and the remarkable T-Rextasy .

For those passionate about football and music, local musician Gerry O’Gorman and his band will be presenting an exclusive showcase of songs inspired by the fans and players of Burnley FC.

The smash hit comedy “51 Shades of Maggie”, an hilarious and rather saucy take on the “50 Shades of Grey” books makes its first appearance in Burnley after sell out runs in Scotland and Ireland. For horror fans the Mechanics premieres a new production of the dark and chilling Bram Stoker legend that is Dracula and the festive season would not be complete without a Christmas visit from Scrooge and the magical story of Snow White performed by the world famous Vienna Ballet.

Cooking enthusiasts can watch some of the UK’s top TV celebrity chefs take part in a remarkable Celebrity Cook Off Live on stage and there’s a visit from the dynamic and commanding Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers creating their formidable wall of sound. Burnley favourites The Ladyboys of Bangkok will be dropping by with their new show and the glitz continues with the critically acclaimed stage spectacular French Can Can (featuring an international cast of beautiful and talented dancers, glittering stage sets and stunning costumes).

For children and their families a date with local favourites Circus Hilarious and the latest stage adaptation of children’s author Julia Donaldson’s books, Stick Man Live on Stage. The Mechanics once again plays host to the exceptional local talent that is the Burnley Light Opera Society who this year will be presenting a production of The Witches of Eastwick and the ever popular Burnley antomime Society present Cinderella.

To get the season off to a cracking start the 2nd CAMRA Beer Festival will take place from September 5th to 7th.
