Gervase Phinn brings his colourful tales to Burnley

COME and spend an evening with Gervase Phinn.

One of Britain’s greatest comic writers and raconteurs is playing the Burnley Mechanics next month.

His show “An Evening with Gervase Phinn” will have you on the edge of your seat, as he shares his hilarious and sometimes poignant tales of life as a schools inspector in the Yorkshire Dales.

He is perhaps best known for his best-selling series of five Dales books for Penguin while his reminiscences about life as a school inspector have featured heavily on Radio 4’s “Book Of The Week” and “Book At Bedtime” slots.

He has also written a wide range of academic books, children’s poetry and fiction, has made numerous TV and radio appearances and has spent the last six years developing a stand-up routine based on his unique and comprehensive knowledge of life in and around education.
