Eighties legends are taking to the road again across region

Go West, Hue and Cry and The Christians will perform some of their best known hits as they whizz around the country. The tour kicks off at The Lowry in Salford on Monday, October 21st and moves to The Grand Theatre in Blackpool on Thursday, November 21st and the Philharmonic Theatre in Liverpool on Wednesday, November 27th.

With millions of album sales between them and iconic hits such as We Close Our Eyes, Call Me, King of Wishful Thinking, Labour of Love and Looking for Linda, the bands have perfected their craft over 25 years and the concert promises to be cracker.

Go West had their first hit We Close Out Eyes in 1985. It was the first of many including Call Me, Goodbye Girl and Don’t Look Down. The band won a BRIT award for Best Newcomer in 1986 and followed by tracks on the multi-million selling soundback albums, Rocky IV, Nightmare on Elm Street and White Men Can’t Jump.

Hue and Cry burst onto the UK music scene in the late 1980s with top albums Seduced and Abandoned and Remote. During this period the band produced some of its best hit singles including Labour of Love, Violently and Looking for Linda. Merseyside stars The Christians were the main movers in the soul scene which came out of the North West of England in the 1980s. Along with Go West and Hue Cry, they brought a distinctive edge to the charts. Frontman Garry Christian still sports the raybans and the deserving description of “having the voice of the decade.’’

Fans will be able to take a trip back in time with great songs such as Harvest For the World, Words, Born Again, Hooverville, Forgotten Town and Ideal World.
