Clitheroe Castle open air concerts on the way

FANS of live music have a bumper weekend to look forward to in August.

Two open air concerts will take place on consecutive nights at the bandstand in Clitheroe Castle Grounds, both organised by Clitheroe Town Council.

The first is a rock concert on Friday, August 12th, at 7-30 p.m. and featuring three local Bands – Freebird, Waltzing Invention and the Blues Dudes. Admission is free, but donations can be made, with proceeds going to the Brain and Spine Foundation, Cancer Research UK and the Mayor of Clitheroe Welfare Fund.

The following night, Saturday, August 13th, sees the popular Clitheroe Last Night of the Proms concert in the Castle Grounds. This year’s programme of Proms classics will be performed by Clitheroe Town Band and audience members are encouraged to get into the spirit by dressing patriotically, waving their flags and bringing a picnic. Once again, admission is free and the concert starts at 7-30 p.m.
