Burnley to hold Lancashire’s first-ever Gay Pride Festival

EAST Lancashire’s first-ever Gay Pride festival is set for Burnley Mechanics.

The two-day extravaganza is geared up to celebrate Burnley’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual community on September 9th and 10th.

Pandemonium Productions will set Friday night alight with a unique and unusual performance of music and comedy from Coco Malone, described as having a vocal range that knows no limits.

Coco’s influences include the great Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone.

The Rockabelles will perform a set of rockabilly-style and poptastic tunes, and there will be special comedy guests and a spectacular choral event to celebrate Burnley Pride in style.

The Burnley Pride and the Lancashire LGBT Centre charity fund-raiser runs from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. on the Friday with tickets costing £10.

Saturday’s sensational line-up of musicians, DJs, comedians is completely free – but tickets are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

On the night there will be a celebrity welcome, along with attractions, information and merchandise stalls.
