Burnley bands needed to ‘Rock The House’ now

BURNLEY artists wanting a shot at the big time are being given the chance to Rock The House.

A national music competition with a political twist, Rock The House aims to support unsigned acts while raising awareness of the need for copyright protection measures.

Bands, who must have at least one member living in the Burnley constituency, must enter the competition by Thursday, March 31st. Application forms can be obtained from www.rockthehouse.me.uk and should be handed into the Lib Dem offices in St James’s Row.

The artists will be dwindled down in the proceeding weeks before a battle of the bands style final, comprising five or six acts, to be held at The Basement Project, Central Methodist Church, on Thursday, April 28th.

Following the competition Burnley MP Gordon Birtwistle will nominate one of the acts to go in front of a judging panel of music industry heavyweights, with the chance of winning a host of mouth-watering prizes.

He will also put forward a live music venue which has already been chosen as The Basement Project.

Any genre of artist or age group can apply to take part in the competition and the winner of the Burnley final will also win a recording session.
