Burnley band night staying on

FIRST thing’s first – Talbot Wednesdays are here to stay.

After four highly successful nights at the Church Street venue, it has been decided by the powers that be that the monthly bout of midweek music madness will now become a permanent fixture.

And this Wednesday is the first of what will hopefully be a run of specials with the electric guitar making way for the acoustic and the more stripped back and chilled out night of music.

Homegrown Sean Roche is first on stage at 8-30 p.m. Influenced by the likes of Michael Hedges, Antoine Dufour and Don Ross, his finger-picking style is a joy to behold as is the repertoire of songs he has built up over the years.

Next up will be talented Manchester musician John Ainsworth, who creates beautifully crafted acoustic songs on his 12-string, finishing them off with captivating vocals. When he’s not busy writing and recording songs for his upcoming EPs, John can be found spending most of his time playing to a wide variety of audiences across the Manchester music scene.

Headlining the night is The Acoustic Conquistador. Originally a musical project by Arlen Connelly, he has now teamed up with ace multi percussionist Holly Prest to put together a musical experience of blistering intensity and intelligent complexity. Not to be missed.

Three acts, three hours of great music and it’s all for free.
