Book Review: Unlocking the Spell: A Tale of the Wide-Awake Princess, by E.D. Baker

There is nothing better than curling up before bedtime with the children and reading them a fairytale.

And this tome had Ruaridh (6) and Flora (3) attentive and silent as they let their imaginations run riot. The book tells the story of Annie who having helped her sister Gwendolyn (otherwise known as Sleeping Beauty) wake up from the 100-year curse by reuniting her with Prince Beldegard, find herself with another problem.

For the prince is stuck in the body of a bear and the only way Annie can be free of the two irritating lovebirds is to come to his rescue and find the evil dwarf who cast the spell. Luckily Annie has her own handsome prince to hand and lots of tricks up her non-magical sleeve.
