Book review: Disappearance of Tom Pile by Ian Beck

This is an intriguing story. It centres round a bitterly cold night in 1900 when a young boy disappears without a trace from a forest near to his home.

He is never found, but the man he was with claims he was snatched by angels. Forty years later Corporal Jack Carmody is sent to investigate some strange reports of mysterious lights above a village.

The villagers suspect it is German bombers, but when Carmody finds a little boy, he knows differently.
