Computer bingo nets users £5m

Wigan women have put the technology into bingo - the town is going computer bingo barmy according to a recent poll.
Almost 110,000 young women in the North West are playing online bingo each week, pocketing £5m a year and polling it as the number one lifestyle choice.
New research conducted among 18 to 35-year-old women in Wigan, by online bingo site 888ladies.com, reveals that bingo babes are following in the footsteps of celebrity bingo players like Denise Van Outen, Catherine Zeta Jones and Jade Jagger.
Around 33% of Wigan women prefer to stay in at the weekends to play bingo, and hear today's updated version of the traditional calls, such as number two – Jimmy Choo, number ten – Deirdre and Ken, number 32 –
Topshop sale queue, number 66 – Pete Tong in the mix and number 85 – Amy's Beehive.
But researchers say that far from neglecting their all-important social lives, one in 20 young Wigan women will get their friends round for a game or meet them in the bingo chat rooms.
