Victorian England is the setting for this Tony award winning musical thriller staged around the infamous story of Benjamin Barker A.K.A Sweeney Todd and his sinister partnership with fellow tenant Mrs Lovett.
Award winning Director and Choreographer Anthony Williams and Musical Director Simon Murray head a very talented cast to bring another spectacular production to the Mechanics stage.
Never previously performed by the society we anticipate another sold out sensational show.

A much-anticipated return to Burnley Mechanics for England's most popular roots duo.
An alchemist couldn't have come up with a more potent, magical mix than that of Phil Beer, who can, as The Scotsman observed, "play nearly every stringed instrument known to man" and the inspired Steve Knightley, described by Mike Harding as "one of England's greatest singer songwriters". Peter Gabriel, Johnnie Walker and Bob Harris are all agreed – Show of Hands are one of the great English acoustic bands.
