Burnley TV star Jeff Brown had a thousand reasons to smile after completing the Pennine 10k run.

The famous face from the Safetyle UK advert ran the 10k race through Burnley to help raise money for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal.

Jeff, whose is known for his catchphrase “you buy one, you get one free”, collected a cheque for £1,000 from Frances Austen managing director of the Sovereign Group in Nelson.

The cash will be split between the Jane Tomlinson Appeal and St Cuthbert’s Church Hall, in Burnley, where Jeff’s mum Maureen volunteers. He raised a total of around £11,000 – with £10,000 coming from Burnley FC sponsors Premier Range.

Jeff said: “It has been brilliant. We raised a lot of money and the race was great. People were willing me on all the way round. Everybody was joining in and got behind it. It was great for Burnley.”

Frances Austen added: “It was a great effort from Jeff. We are very happy to support him and the charities.”
