A POPULAR antiques TV show is in town today filming for a future programme.

The “Antiques Road Trip”, where experts hunt for local finds and compete with each other to make a profit at auction, is coming to Karlen Antiques this afternoon.

The makers of the BBC2 show have been in talks with partners Michael and Linda Heuer about filming for months, but the couple still do not know which expert will be landing on the doorstep of their Bank Hall Works premises.

“It will be a lovely surprise,” said Linda. “Whoever it is, they are bound to find something interesting and unusual here.

“We have 40 dealers who have their own stalls, and they are all different.

“There is quite a buzz here; everyone is excited about the programme. The bartering is all part of what happens, and we are all looking forward to the film crew’s arrival.”
