If you want to break free and be a champion then ‘We Will Rock You’ is the show for you.

Shuttleworth College are putting on the musical, which was written by Ben Elton in conjunction with Queen, and it’s a great chance to sing along to a medley of Queen songs.

The cast and staff have worked incredibly hard and I am sure that each evening will be a huge success

It’s the first time Shuttleworth College have put on a show which will run from Tuesday 20th to Friday 23rd October with tickets £5 for adults and £3 for concessions, available from the Padiham school.

“I am really excited,” said Year 10 student Louise Boult who plays the lead female Scaramouche. “I like singing but it’s the first time I have been lead role so I am nervous as well as excited.”

Year 11 student Simon Walton plays Galilileo. “I love Queen songs so this is great for me. We have been rehearsing really hard so I am sure it will be perfect on the night.

“I am the lead singer in a school band called the Boxes but this is a new experience for me.”

Assistant Head and Music Teacher Beth Watson said: “Shuttleworth College sees the arts as a key priority and I am delighted that we are running a full production, the first of many.

“Our students are now taught music, drama and dance from Year Seven and this show demonstrates the significant talent at Shuttleworth.

“The cast and staff have worked incredibly hard and I am sure that each evening will be a huge success. Tickets are available from Shuttleworth College - please come along and show your support.”
