Residents complained to police and environmental health officers about an event near Thompson Park last weekend.
People also took to social network sites to voice their concerns about loud music on Saturday night.
Burnley Borough Council had granted a temporary licence for the event but the council and police were inundated with complaints.
The event is believed to have been a fund-raiser.
Residents said the noise could be heard in Lanehead.
A spokesman for Burnley Council’s environmental health team said: “We have received a number of complaints about noise nuisance during an event in the Bank Hall area on Saturday. “The environmental protection team are considering the options available to us to deal with any nuisance and prevent a recurrence.
“The licensing team confirm that a temporary event notice was received on August 7th and was processed in accordance with The Licensing Act 2003.”
