TEENAGE TV star Lucien Laviscount is preparing an assault on the charts with his debut single.
Former Coronation Street and Waterloo Road actor Lucien is set to release “Dance With You” this April.
The 19-year-old, of Read, who featured in Celebrity Big Brother, teamed up with American hip-hop sensation Mann to make the track.
After meeting at last year’s MOBO Awards, Lucien hit the studio with the LA rapper who has collaborated with music megastar 50 Cent in the US.
The former Clitheroe Royal Grammar School pupil was signed up to the SK record label which is run by British artist Simon Webbe.
Lucien said: “It has all just been a whirlwind. I have always loved music but I have never had the confidence to do anything with it.
“I had been writing a few lyrics on my phone and my friend and manager saw them and though it was good stuff. So we put a track down in the studio.”
Rising rap star Mann, who has collaborated on two Number 1 hits in the States, heard the song at last year’s MOBOs and got on board.
“I was absolutely buzzing,” said Lucien. “It was crazy that he liked the song. He is only 20 years old but look at what he has done. He has had two US Numbers 1s and worked with 50 Cent who is the daddy.”
The track is a fusion of R&B and house music and a preview has been posted on YouTube before it is released at the beginning of April.
Lucien is seen in the video alongside musician and actor Ashley Walters, known as Asher D, and former Eastenders star Matt Di Angelo.
The young star said there could be an album in the pipeline and even hinted at a return to East Lancashire as part of a tour of schools across the UK.
