A TEENAGE singing star brought down the house when she won Hameldon Community College’s talent show.

Amber Anders was crowned the winner of H Factor after rocking the school auditorium with her version of hit song “Valerie”.

The 13-year-old won a three-month cinema pass for Apollo Cinema, which sponsored the event, while fellow pupils Holy Jackson and Bradley Porter took the runner-up spots.

A total of £130 was raised for charity and Amber said: “I couldn’t believe it when they announced my name. I never thought that I would win as the competition was so good.”

Judges on the night were assistant headteacher Mrs Ali Cole (aka Mrs Not Cheryl Cole), assistant headteacher Mr Kevin Mercer (aka Gazmon Scouswell) and community governor Mrs Julie Vintin (aka Shazliza Vinborne).
