ORGANISERS of this year’s Rotary Club of Burnley Pendleside’s Pendle Pub Walk have said they are overwhelmed by Saturday’s turn-ut and the money raised for the event’s chosen charity, Pendleside Hospice.

Despite gloomy predictions, Saturday’s weather was very good and helped create a celebratory atmosphere among the 550 people that took part in the annual event. Initial pledges suggest that Pendle Pub Walk has raised over £20,000 – double the amount that organisers had set as a target! Event organiser, Simon Tattersall, said: “It was such a special day! So many people coming together to do Pendle Pub Walk was fantastic.”

“Even local MPs Andrew Stephenson and Nigel Evans, took time out from their busy schedules to join us.”
