A COMPETITION is being launched giving photographers the chance to show why they are proud of Burnley.
The contest, which is being run by the Burnley Express and Prince’s Charities, is looking for pictures that celebrate the best of our town.
Budding snappers can take apicture of anything they think shows Burnley as a great place to live – but the judges are looking for something a little different.
The competition, which will run until June 20th, is part of the “Proud of Burnley” campaign to bring together local people, organisations and community groups that champion the excellent work that goes on in the town.
Anyone can enter the contest which kicks off today and the winner will be given a £50 prize voucher. Amanda Skelton, of the Prince’s charity Business in the Community, said it was a great chance to show everyone why the town is so special. “We are keen to see pictures that really capture what makes you proud of Burnley. This isn’t just about great photography - we’re looking for innovative and different images that really capture the essence of Burnley. It could be captured on a mobile phone or taken with an old SLR - what matters is that it shows a side of Burnley that makes you proud.”
A selection of the best pictures will feature in the Express and be displayed online at the Burnley Express website, in the newspaper offices in Manchester Road, as well as around the town this summer.
Photographs must be your own work and can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or dropped in at the desk at the Burnley Express office.
