A special presentation has been held to mark the dedication and hard work of library volunteers.
The “Time To Say Thank You” event was held at Coal Clough Library, in recognition of the 34 volunteers who give up their own time to help at six branch libraries and Burnley Central Library.
Flowers and chocolates were handed out to the volunteers, following a speech by district manager for Burnley libraries Mary Brown. Refreshments were also served.
Home library service manager Sandra McGowan said: “The volunteers help in a number of ways - with the home library service, in community history, with computers. We couldn’t do without them.
“A lot of the volunteers said it was really good to meet other volunteers, as they usually work on their own. We are hoping we can make this an annual event.”
