The Burnley sky will be ablaze with fireworks this November after the fuse was lit on Towneley’s bonfire and fireworks display.
Back by popular demand, the family event is set to be bigger and better than ever with 5,000 people expected to descend on Towneley Park for the show on Tuesday, November 5th.
Organised by Burnley Council, in partnership with the Friends of Towneley Park and local community groups, the bonfire will be held on the sports field off higher Towneley.
The evening will also feature a funfair and two firework displays, a children’s one at 7-30pm and the main display at 8-30pm.
Tickets are on sale through Burnley Mechanics Box Office at £2 individual and £5 for a family ticket. They are also available at Contact Burnley, St Peter’s Leisure Centre, Padiham Leisure Centre and Towneley Hall.
Towneley Park will be closed to through-traffic on the evening of the bonfire but family tickets that include car parking and admission for up to four people are available for £8 and £10.
Coun. John Harbour, Executive member for leisure, said: “I am delighted that the bonfire and fireworks display is returning to Towneley. It promises to be a fantastic event with a traditional family funfair with stalls and rides, a big bonfire and a firework display that will be the biggest and most spectacular seen in Burnley.
“The council is very grateful to Balmers Garden Machinery which has kindly sponsored the bonfire this year.”
