Thousands of people wrapped up warm and braved the cold as they enjoyed a Burnley bonfire night to remember.
A huge bonfire kept temperatures soaring as two spectacular firework displays lit up the night sky above Towneley Park.
Sparklers sizzled and bonfire toffee was eaten by the bag full as young and old descended on the park for the sold-out evening of fun and entertainment .
The rain held off for the most part and the 5,000 strong crowd was kept in good spirits by a field full of attractions laid on by Burnley Council.
There was a funfair with rides including waltzers, dodgems and a ghost train as well as numerous food stalls dotted around the site.
A 2BR stage was also popular with the crowds who gathered for live music and a speech from Rachel Finnis-Brown in between the firework shows.
There were traffic delays following the event after an ambulance had to be called to the site to tend to a woman complaining of abdominal pains.
