Comics were the staple part of my reading diet when I was young.

And it’s nice to see Ruaridh (7) and Flora (5) have continued with the tradition.

Old favourites The Beano and The Dandy are still going strong and as funny as ever, with Dennis and his gang joined by favourites the Numbskulls and Rodger the Dodger, while Desperate Dan is still causing havoc alongside Korky the Cat and Winker Watson.

And for Sunday Post fans, comic legends Oor Wullie and his family The Broons will have you chuckling at Christmas!

Loveable rascal Wullie is always up to no good, but he seems to get away with it, just because he is cute. His tales are told in the 2015 annual.

For the real comic enthusiast, there are The Beano and The Dandy and Oor Wullie and The Broons collector’s editions which allow you to re-live the classic comic strips which brought laughter to the home front between 1939 and 1945 and they also honour the 70th anniversaries of D-Day in 1944 and VE day in 1945.
