Women enjoy ‘Singing for the Soul’ in choir open day

Waiting for Video...

A Burnley women’s choir has shown it has real heart and soul at a special open day.

The Singing for the Soul group put on a show to attract new members to the choir at the Faith Centre.

Songs including “Swing Low Sweet Chariot” and “Salam Alaikum” were sung during the event.

Bea Foster, from the choir, said: “We had the open day for people to be able to come and see what we do.

“We had about 10 new ladies who had not been before. We were singing songs from different traditions and cultures.

“It is really good in so many ways – for lifting your spirit, for exercise, health and well being, to meet new people and getting people out of isolation.”

The group meets at the Faith Centre every Tuesday night from 7pm to 8-30pm.

Anyone interested in joining in can contact bea_foster@hotmail.com or on 07875517043.
