I wonder if your photographer obtained "permission" to take the picture displayed in the Padiham Express of 28/03/08, together with those posted on this website? I have taken regular photographs of this site since it was started, but on Easter Monday (24/03/08), I was challenged by a security guard whilst doing so. He stated that photographs could only be taken with prior permission from Bovis Landlease. Perhaps your photographer had upset them prior to this! However, I was suitably chastised!

Whilst I agree that this school is an "eyesore", my major concern is regarding the future maintenance of the exterior of the building. Close-up photographs suggest that the external finish for large parts of the exterior is one of a mortar skim on top of insulation blocks. If this survives 5 years before dropping off, I will eat hay with a donkey!

At least the building is an improvement on the monstrosity that preceded it, i.e. Gawthorpe High School.
