THE Fosters Lancashire Cricket League table is likely to change again after another double-header weekend.
Lowerhouse, fighting to retain their crown, take a seven-point cushion in to the weekend schedule though face an enticing clash with second place Enfield at Dill Hill Lane on Sunday.
Enfield inflicted the West Enders’s second loss of the campaign less than a week ago, cruising to an eight-wicket triumph at Liverpool Road. Jonny Whitehead had fired 80 for the home side but visiting professional Werner Coetsee hit back with an unbeaten 85 in the reply to keep it tight at the top.
But first Charlie Cottam’s side gear up for a fixture against Rishton on home soil tomorrow. When the two sides met recently, Lowerhouse eased to a 59-run victory at Blackburn Road.
Elsewhere, Bharat Tripathi’s Burnley will be looking to build on recent wins versus Accrington and Church when they face Craig Fergusson’s side again and Rishton. Burnley host Church at Turf Moor tomorrow before travelling to Rishton on Sunday.
In the Houldsworth Solicitors Ribblesdale Cricket League, Read skipper Kyle O’Connor has effectively conceded defeat in the title chase with Barnoldswick.
A total of 29 points now separate the pair at the summit, with the Whalley Road side sat just three points clear of third place Baxenden. Read play Salesbury at Whalley Road tomorrow while Padiham entertain Oswaldtwistle Immanuel at the Arbories.
