Burnley cricketer Tom Lawson, following an impressive season for Lancashire Under 15s was recently selected for the north of England side that played in the world famous Bunbury festival at Oakham school in Rutland.

The festival, which included teams from the midlands, south west and London and east, played in a week’s festival of cricket under the watchful eye of a number of prominent England officials including Andy Flower.

Tom, 15, who has played in Burnley’s first team this year, was presented with his north of England cap by Graeme Swann, and following a successful tournament was then selected for Lancashire Under 17s, playing in victories against Durham and Yorkshire, resulting in him playing in the Royal London Cup county championship final against Surrey in Sussex .

Lancashire shared the trophy with Surrey after the game was abandoned.
