If you want to test yourself or a team to the limit, the inaugural Ellis Brigham Trailblaster 12 is for you.
This is a 12 hour off-road relay race or Ultra marathon challenge against the clock at Towneley Park, with a portion of the proceeds going to Pendleside Hospice.
The event, organised by CanonballEvents based in Todmorden, is open to five-minute milers or 15-minute milers and is set for June 21st 2015.
People can run on their own, as a pair or in teams of four or five, and it’s a case of chalking up the laps, which are 5km each, over 12 hours. The race starts at 8 a.m. and finishes at 8 p.m. and entries opened on November 1st, with 1,000 the limit.
The team/person with the most laps completed when the clock stops will win - but it’s more about testing your own endurance and stamina, although there are plenty of prizes on offer.
Entry for one person is £50, for two people it’s £80, and £185 for team entries of four or five members.
There will be drink stations, energy bars, chip timing, and prizes from Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports, while camping is available.
Canonball owner John Lloyd said: “The Trailblaster 12 offers a challenge for club runners, unattached runners, park runners and ultra runners.”
