Lowerhouse Under 13s have been on the receiving end of some drubbings at the hands of Accrington, but the boot was on the other foot with a comprehensive victory for the Tigers.
Accrington made 240-7, to Lowerhouse’s 321-3 as Charlie Bithell took 3-13 and made 20 not out, to add to 30 not out from Ross Birchall, 16 not out from Georgia Clough and 13 from Ethan Laraway.
In the Under 15s derby, the younger Barracudas put up a good effort against the Dolphins.
The Dolphins made 120-7, with the Barracudas closing on 92-7.
Top-scorers for the Dolphins were Joey Stein (24 not out), Jake Seddon (18), Tom Nicholas (16) and Alex Claridge Ingham (12).
Harrison Smith took 2-14.
In reply, James Wheatcroft took 2-16, Joe Halstead 3-16, and Jake Seddon 2-23, as Ross Birchall hit 30 not out, Joe Halstead 21 not out and Ethan Laraway 14.
A poor batting performance and undisciplined fielding performance contributed to defeat for the Under 11s Bears against Longridge.
The Bears scored 236-5 to Longridge’s 240-7, as Caleb Greenhalgh took 2-2.
The Under 11s Cubs produced a comprehensive victory and top all round team performance against Accrington, with Under 9s Singh and Bridge playing very well indeed, with nine off their four overs only and an unbeaten 13 partnership.
Yanis Chir also scored 18 not out and Dylan Taylor 11 not out, while Brooklyn Dobbie took 2-12.
And the Under 11s Koalas also turned in a great all round performance against Haslingden.
All bowlers took one wicket, with Elliott Boult taking his debut wicket.
James Bridge made 12 not out and Ben Corbett 10 not out.
